Lynne Mapp Drexler studied with influential Abstract Expressionists Hans Hofmann and Robert Motherwell, whose teachings on color, form, and abstraction helped shape her distinctive artistic voice. New Growth recalls the mosaic-like compositions and vibrant color experimentation that characterized Drexler’s work of the late 1950s and early 1960s, a pivotal period in which she developed the dynamic, nature-inspired abstractions for which she is celebrated today.
