Previous Vose Galleries label, inventory no. 16079 (number was mis-typed as 16709 and the title given as “Copley Square – Snow”; ledger entry has title as Trinity Church in Snow Storm)
Watercolors by John Whorf, Vose Galleries, Boston, November 15 – December 4, 1948, as no. 18 Trinity Church in Snow Storm

Very good. While the artist’s signature has grown faint, the painting itself has only minor color loss due to age. It was recently conserved – old tape and tape residue was removed from the top margin verso, a small ¼” tear on the left margin was repaired with rice paper, minor mold stains/spores were spot removed and treated, and the paper was deacidified and relaxed/pressed. Slight old mat stains near the edges and the artist’s pinholes at the corners were left as is and are now covered by an archival mat.
