Discoveries: Rosemary Cotnoir

On exhibition November 5, 2026 - December 3, 2026

Discoveries is an ongoing exhibition series at Vose Galleries highlighting exceptional emerging and mid-career artists whose work reflects originality, skill, and a compelling artistic vision. Continuing the gallery’s tradition of identifying artists of lasting merit, the series offers collectors and visitors the opportunity to engage with some of today’s most exciting contemporary voices.

For the second installment of Discoveries, Vose Galleries is pleased to present the work of Rosemary Cotnoir, a Connecticut-based painter whose vibrant abstractions are inspired by the patterns, textures, and rhythms of the natural world. Drawing from coastlines, marshes, forests, and rivers, Cotnoir transforms observed landscapes into layered compositions that balance expressive color with carefully structured form.

Working through an intuitive and improvisational process, Cotnoir builds her paintings through successive layers of organic shapes, gestural mark-making, and richly textured surfaces. Often evoking aerial perspectives and shifting viewpoints, her work occupies a space between abstraction and landscape, inviting viewers to experience nature not as a literal depiction, but as a dynamic arrangement of color, movement, and memory.

Vose Galleries is delighted to present Discoveries: Rosemary Cotnoir, introducing her distinctive body of work to Boston collectors and audiences. The exhibition will be on view from November 5 through December 3, 2026.
