Wallace Weir Fahnestock (b. 1877)

Wallace Weir Fahnestock was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and studied at the Cleveland School of Art, the Chase School and the Art Students League in New York.  He later settled in Dorset, Vermont, and made a career painting the snow covered hills and landscapes of Vermont.  He was a member of the Salmagundi Club, the Connecticut Academy of the Fine Arts and the Southern Vermont Artists, and his work was exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 1927.
