Vose Galleries has proudly held solo shows of Liz Haywood-Sullivan’s work in 2007, 2011, and 2019, and opened a fourth solo exhibition demonstrating her sensitivity to the seasonal rhythms of the natural world in the summer of 2021. That Special Evening was included in our 2019 exhibit and inspired the following from the artist: “[In June 2019], my best friend’s daughter was married on Thompson Island in Boston Harbor. While the drama of the sun setting over the Boston Skyline drew everyone’s attention I turned around to see these amazing clouds hanging over the island. As dramatic as the clouds are, the painting is as much about the sliver of land at the bottom, with the last rays of sun just touching the tips of the trees.”
